Everyone is welcome to join us to celebrate the third birthday of the Shandon Local Food Group at our AGM on Wednesday, 14th March, 7.30 pm at the Phoenix Club on Harrison Place.
Review of the Last Year
We aim to keep the formal business to a minimum so we will have time to socialise and look at our photo boards of some of the highlights of the year.
The Chairs’ and treasurer’s report will be made available and are also on the website: https://shandonfood.wordpress.com/key-documents/.
Celebration and Winehouse Free Tasting
Following the AGM, there will be birthday cake, nibbles and Winehouse have kindly agreed to host a free tasting of some local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Welcoming New Committee Members
We will be welcoming new members to join Sue McKendrick, Judith Keys, Beccy Brooks and Harriet Grant on the committee. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or are interested in standing on the commitee (firstname.lastname@example.org).
A Huge Thank you to the Outgoing Committee Members
Gavin Corbett (communications, former chair) has been the inspiration behind the initiation of Shandon Local Food Group and has organised most of our newsletters and publicity.
Francis Watkins (co-chair) facilitated the launch of the Shop Local Shop Shandon campaign and organised our first Local Food Fair.
Alison Jones (co-chair) managed to secure 3 out of 3 grants she applied for and thus made a lot of events financially viable last year. She is currently organising our March Local Food Fair.
Sabine Guendel (Email List) has kept the membership informed of all the upcoming events and coordinated 2 cookery classes.
Amie Fulton (Community Garden Rep) worked hard in setting up the foundations for our partnership with the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens.
A big thank you to all of them for the work they have done so far and the ongoing support we know they will provide to the new committee!
