The next Local Food Fair will be 11 am – 2 pm on Saturday 24th March 2012 at Polwarth Church Hall.  Enquiries please email hello@shandonfood.org.uk.

Great Stalls for Food Shopping

Skip the supermarket queues and come and shop with us!  Our stalls include: John Muir Arran cheeses and oatcakes;  Creelers fish and seafood; Whitmuir farm meat, eggs and bread;  Lila’s cakes and savouries;  Dough re mi cup cakes and bakery ;  Garvald bakery;  Oxenfoord organic veg, flowers and preserves; The Magic Teapot (tea and dried fruits); Phantassie (veg, fruit and preserves).

Cards and Gifts  We may have the perfect gift and card for a special occasion with stalls including Phoenix cards, local glass made by Symphony, Emma’s Jewellery, nail varnish and Small Green Spaces.

Have some Lunch too!

Well Hung and Tender will be cooking at a barbecue (bacon, sausage and burgers) outside (their Aberdeen Angus burgers are first class).  In the cafe, there will be drinks and mugs of home made soup (courtesy of our chef, Ally Boyd).  In the hall, there will be plenty of cakes.

Information Stalls

The community garden stall will have some information on gardening courses and drop-in events (and some plants for sale- strawberry , parsley and chives); our ‘where to buy local’ info stall; Zero Waste Scotland, the love food hate waste campaign; Gorgie farm; community bakery information from the Steamiebakehouse. Friendly help and advice will be available if you don’t know what to cook with the kale, chard or beetroot in your veg box!

Kids Activities

There will be a few things to keep the kids occupied whilst Mum and Dad can shop and enjoy some lunch.  Kids activities this time will include chocolate egg decorating and making cress head people.
